Proof that the World Didn’t End Yesterday

Our dogs Mini and Cooper snuggle to keep warm. They are experts at savouring every moment.

156 days of writing daily, consecutive blog posts ended yesterday.  Why didn’t I post yesterday? The easy answer is because I didn’t want to.

The deeper answer is that I made a conscious decision to remind myself that:

* Just because I can, doesn’t mean I always should.

* The world will continue, oblivious to my blog ‘silence’.

* Goals are important but equally important is to evaluate your goals constantly.

* Infrequent times of ‘doing nothing’ is not wasteful but essential if one wants to savour the journey.

Until tomorrow….

Believing in Our Dream

Sutton Forrest in Southern Highlands NSW

I’ve been looking through the photos captured from last week’s sight seeing adventures with my family (showing family who were staying with us, around where we live).

Almost two years ago, we lived in the inner City of Sydney.  For seven years we dreamt, planned and actioned change, that allowed us to eventually move to an area we saw as ‘Bliss’.  We are now living that Bliss in the Wollondilly area, base of the Southern Highlands of NSW (South of Sydney).

So many people said “wish we could do what you have done”.  Our response is “what’s stopping you?”

For years there was much standing in our way, of achieving the work / life balance in our semi rural lifestyle, that we currently enjoy.

Belief in our dream, was the fundamental reason we are now living our dream.  Belief that it was possible, belief that we deserved it and belief that it was important.

Challenges were overcome because of our belief.

What do you believe about your dreams? Really, truthfully believe?

New Year Reflections for 2015

“There is never enough time to do everything but there is always time to do what is most important”.

New Year’s eve found me reflecting upon this quote.

Today, New Year’s day, I am blessed to again realise I am focusing on what is important to my family and I – trying to live a more sustainable life (amongst other things).

Like a ‘sign’ that we are traveling on the correct journey, this 2.5 metre sunflower bloomed in our garden on New Year’s eve.  I saw it as a good omen.

Nothing like a New Year for some self reflection.
