Work Holiday on the Sunshine Coast of Australia

It’s lovely when you can mix business with pleasure.  Escaping Winter on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland has been an enjoyable ‘fringe benefit’ of work.

Little One and I will be staying a little longer in the sun with my family.

Soon I will share photos of a community garden which is around the corner from where we are staying – it is very cool.

2544 Days!

image

Today is exactly 141 days since the beginning of the year. 141 days of posting everyday continuously.

Today is also 2544 days since I started sharing my sustainable journey through my GreenerMe blog.  That is 6 years, 11 months and 19 days.

Today was just a random day to crunch the numbers – just for fun.

My Naughty April Fools Joke

I can be naughty. I do love to have fun and not be serious all the time.

Yesterday was April Fools day in the Southern Hemisphere.

At 7 am I posted an image to my personal Facebook page.

My phone immediately starting ringing and receiving texts. I didn’t actually expect anyone to fall for my April Fools joke but most did.

There are triplets in our Little One’s swimming class and I watch their mother in awe and respect!!  Man can you imagine it?

Come on be honest, what April Fools joke caught you out?

Another Toddler Inspired Embarrassing Moment with Stickers

Today our Little One and I are going to a Wiggles Concert.  Have you heard of the Wiggles?  Apparently they are Australia’s highest paid musical band – an International children’s entertainment act.

I am a little excited (ok very excited).

It will be good to get out and about.  As it has been raining these last couple of days, we have been playing outside with our rain coats and inside creating art – with stickers, colourful paper and crayons.

Two days ago, our Little One thought it would be fun to put colourful paper and stickers on Mummy’s face.  The problem with this game is that it doesn’t take long for one’s sensory receptors on the face, to ‘forget’ the stickers are there.  Hence why I answered the door, to sign for a parcel, looking like this.

Immediately I understood why the courier was smirking at me.  I’m grateful that this sticker episode wasn’t as embarrassing as the last one.

Hope this puts a smile on your face today.

Friendly Children’s Sustainable Garden

Look what I found in the last council’s ‘chuck out day’ – a large, colourful mobile, plane kite.  Crazy what people throw out for landfill, with little thought.

Our Little One loves jumping up to grab the yellow flowing tail.

With a little resourcefulness and imagination, a sustainable garden (or any garden) can become magical for children – even with no expense.

Sunflower and Honey Bee Photograph

image

Over the Christmas, new year break, I have been enjoying photographing my garden. However I have not chosen to use my professional cameras – instead choosing my camera phone.

This close up of a giant sunflower and honey bee gave me joy to photograph.   Love the glistening light on the bee’s wings.  Hope this image puts some ‘sunshine’ into your day.
