Summer has just finished here. Over Summer, our Little One enjoyed chasing butterflies in the garden – often squealing with delight.
She has butterfly stickers in her room and hand painted butterflies in her cubby. Hence the idea of a butterfly cake for her birthday.
Just for the record, cake decorating isn’t one of my fortes but why should that stop anyone?
Using my gluten and dairy free plain cake recipe as the base, I got started on the designing.
Just one 20cm round cake base was needed:

Organise cake peices into butterfly shape:
Making this cake was fun but watching her reaction when she saw it lit up in candles, was even better.
