Remembering the Joy of a Large Cardboard Box

Outside the wind blew and temperatures plummeted.  Today was a good day to stay and play inside.

It felt like an appropriate time to bring that large cardboard box inside, that we have been storing in the garage.  With a large door cut out on either side, our Little Miss played ‘tunnels’ through out the day.  Of course Mini and Cooper joined in too (reluctantly).

It was a reminder that children’s creativity and imagination don’t need new and expensive toys to be inspired.

As our Little Miss grows older, together we will decorate her ‘Cubby Tunnel’ – and again we will use recycled materials to inspire her decorating creativity.

Teaching her that creativity is not just art but more importantly how one thinks. Also teaching the values of saving, reusing and recycling – all while having Sooooo much fun.
