For months I searched for an entrance table with exact measurements, draws and a back to hide phone line cords.
Through Ebay, I found a second hand table that fitted my requirements. It however had a laminate surface.
After a light to medium sand, then a base coat with laminate primer then five coats of laminate paint, this was the result.
The box and containers under the table, are hiding the power point – for baby proofing. This is temporary until we create a better solution.
The downside of renovating a laminate table is the paint is more expensive than normal paint. You also require more coats and the colour range is limited.
The upside is second hand laminate tables are plentiful as everyone wants wood and hence they are cheaper or even free.
