This is one of my favourite dishes and can be whipped up in less than 5 minutes.
Bring a large pot of water to boil and add a little olive oil then add your pasta.
While pasta is cooking make your pesto sauce:
2 cups of basil
Garlic
1/3 cup of parmesan
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of French dressing.
Add all ingredients into a large bowl and mix. Once spaghetti is cooked, strain and add to the pesto sauce mixture. Garnish with pine nuts.
Bon Appetit !

Interesting you add oil to the pasta water, I just add salt once the water is boiling and a little of infused oil to the pasta once its cooked, depending on what sauce i use with it, but it makes me hungry just looking at it.

hi cabbage heart,
I add the oil with some types of pasta so it doesn’t stick while cooking.
This dish is great for quick meals but not good reheating the next day – becomes too dry.
Thanks

Thanks for a great recipe Just another case to show that being a vegetarian does not have to mean boring!

Hi Sarhn,
looks and sounds great. I’m definitely going to give it a try and that’s saying something from someone who is more meatasaurus than vegesaurus. All I have to do is scrounge up enough basil leaves from the yard to make some pesto, that’s if I haven’t killed all the plants.
Hi Nevyn,
Sorry for the late reply – was photographing an all day huge conference yesterday.
Let me know how you go. I always add in more oil & french dressing as I like my pasta really moist.
Thanks
Sarhn
